Addiction Treatment in Nashville, Tennessee

After finishing a 30 or 60 day stint at a residential addiction treatment center, people sometimes report feelings of confusion, alienation, or even abandonment. This is due to their losing the sense of community and camaraderie that they experienced while on-site, undergoing emotionally draining and ultimately fulfilling individual, group, and even experiential therapies. Sometimes, these feelings of loss and alienation lead to relapse.

We here at JourneyPure Nashville believe in a more supportive way to transition people back into their daily lives. Prior to discharge, our clients are assigned a personal recovery coach.

Working with the patient, the personal recovery coach develops an individualized plan for long-term sobriety. The plan is then entered into our JourneyPure Coaching™ app so that patients have access to the recovery support they need, whenever and wherever. Knowing that ongoing recovery support is just a call or a click away can be a mighty contributor to alleviating those feelings of confusion and loneliness.

  • Dual Diagnosis Therapy

Quality Dual Diagnosis Therapy In Nashville Tennessee is now a reality.  It is not uncommon for individuals suffering from addiction issues to have underlying mood disorders. It is our goal to give each patient careful examination and consideration, to see if a co-occurring disorder is present. A staggering percentage of people with substance addictions have undiagnosed, or poorly managed psychiatric issues. There may be instances of incorrect medications, lack of medications, incorrect dosages, and even abuse of the medications given. The symptoms and manifestations of trauma, depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder are all increased and magnified with chemical use and dependency. Just as abusing drugs, or alcohol can develop depressive behaviors and increase anxiety.  Regardless of which came first, treatment like what we provide here at our Dual Diagnosis Therapy In Nashville Tennessee is the patient’s best chance of recovering from both afflictions and achieving long-term, meaningful sobriety and improved mental health.

  • Evidence-Based Treatment

Here at JourneyPure’s Evidence-Based Treatment In Nashville Tennessee, we firmly subscribe to the medical (or disease) model of addiction. Understanding that there is a variety of contributing factors that can result in an individual’s struggles with addiction. We know that genetic predisposition can play a part in one’s arrival at addiction, however, it is not necessarily a given outcome.  Sociological, biological, psychological, genetic and environmental factors all contribute. The study of genetics demonstrates that an individual who is genetically predisposed to addiction may experience a heightened response to drugs or alcohol, increasing the frequency in which they engage in that behavior. Frequent exposure further strengthens the dependence by suppressing the area of the brain needed to show restraint and good decision making, even when experiencing negative consequences. This can also be shown in individuals who do not possess the genetic predisposition. The part of the brain that is the reward center will cease to function properly, so the addict continues their negative behavior until death, insanity or sobriety. This aligns with the definition of “disease”, in that someone is experiencing a condition that causes them pain and suffering.

Outpatient in Nashville

Intensive Outpatient and outpatient addiction treatment is designed to meet the needs of people with the support necessary to achieve sobriety and wellness outside of the typically structured (and costly) residential program.

For some, treatment begins at the outpatient level so that the daily commitments of work and family are maintained while developing their recovery skills through therapy. We believe that, just because your substance use has to stop, life doesn’t have to.

The outpatient level of treatment is designed for those looking for an alternative to the traditional 30- or 60-day residential treatment, or for those who believe their substance abuse is not necessarily life-threatening. Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are considered a less restrictive level of care when compared to Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) or residential treatment.

That said, IOPs still offer structured, individualized, and effective care. People will work past their feelings, fears, and assumptions while in an IOP. JourneyPure Nashville’s IOP program—now at two locations, JourneyPure Park Avenue and JourneyPure Paragon Mills— provides dual diagnosis treatment with a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach that integrates the mind, body, and spirit.

For our IOP patients, the JourneyPure staff provides trauma-informed care in groups that meet three times a week: an experiential group exploring an underlying emotional issue or issues; a recovery-focused group providing education regarding their addiction issues, and an emotions processing group that focuses on coping skills in dealing with mental health issues like depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma.

Both JourneyPure Nashville locations also provide an outpatient program. The outpatient level is individually designed and can include individual therapy, group therapy and regular attendance of support groups each week. While in this stage of addiction recovery, a person may be required to seek an outside therapy professional to assist with his or her recovery process. This kind of treatment suited for those with less intense, short-term addictions who would rather begin work on their recovery now, before “hitting rock bottom.”

JourneyPure Outpatient Treatment

At JourneyPure, we believe every person and their family should be afforded a chance to recover, no matter what their financial or personal circumstances. Our expert clinical staff provides patients with the coping skills necessary to live their recovery each day, with a focus on the three pillars of health: sleep, nutrition, and exercise.

We provide individualized recovery options and build our program to equip you with the life skills for lasting sobriety. Our treatment plan includes drug testing and monitoring as well as a strong educational curriculum based on the 12-Step Program, private counseling, and relapse prevention.

Specializing in the treatment of those living with substance abuse disorder and co-occurring mental illness, we believe that many can be treated on an outpatient basis, but only if the care they are receiving is effective. JourneyPure Nashville’s intensive outpatient (IOP) and outpatient (OP) treatment programs reinforce our commitment to the long-term recovery of our patients by providing a full continuum of services to support each person’s needs. We also perform family interventions, if needed.

Our Outpatient Treatment programs focus on weekly group therapy and encompass a range of paths to becoming addiction-free. We provide trauma-informed care, experiential groups that aim to explore underlying emotional issues and recovery-focused groups that build the skills needed for a long-term addiction recovery. We specialize in drug monitoring and the treatment of mental health issues, provide opportunities for emotional processing, and directly address depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma in a transformative group setting.

We also have a 12-Step focused yoga weekly and also integrate different mindfulness practices such as guided meditation.

With its two locations, in JourneyPure Park Avenue and JourneyPure Paragon Mills, JourneyPure Nashville is focused on lasting success. Our team of licensed medical professionals crafts a treatment plan that meets each patient’s personal needs. This is a personal approach to recovery, helping each client better recognize and understand his or her addiction triggers and underlying mental health issues so that long-term management of the addiction and attendant health disorders is achieved.

With clinicians providing a range of support for lasting recovery, JourneyPure continues to set the standard in addiction treatment. This range of support includes the JourneyPure Coaching™ app, which provides free one-on-one relapse recovery support for a minimum of one year. This proprietary app includes private, HIPAA-compliant real-time messaging between the patient and his or her therapy coach, as well as a daily recovery log, nutritional guidance, and collaborative care management with local healthcare providers.
